Welcome to the Wakagi Dojo Biel

We train Bujinkan Ninpo Taijutsu, a 900-year-old form of Japanese self-defense, and Meifu shinkage ryu, the art of bo-shuriken throwing. Ninpo Taijutsu includes both unarmed self defense, as well as use of weapons such as roku shaku bo (staff), katana (sword), nawa (rope) and tanto (knife). Bujinkan Ninpo Taijutsu teaches nine traditional styles (ryuha). Unlike martial arts sport, no competitions are held.

In Meifu shinkage ryu we throw small darts, called bo-shuriken. In past times this shurikenjutsu was part of samurai bugei juhappan and is close related to the art of sword fighting. But it's not only about hitting the target. It's more about concentration, the intense work with themselves, the target and the correct technique. We don't use so called throwing stars. This sort is prohibited by Swiss law and is not part of the Meifu shinkage ryu. Everyone, even from other martial arts, is always welcome to our training.

Shidôshi Matthias Bschleipfer, 11th Dan
(Member of Shidôshi-Kai / jap. associtation of instructors)

"My first Budo experience was Judo at the age of 5 years. In 1995, I finally came to the Bujinkan Ninpo Taijutsu, which has never left me and fascinated again and again. Since that time, I was able to train several times directly in Japan under the guidance of Soke (grandmaster) Masaaki Hatsumi. At 18.04.2006 I passed Sakki test in Japan for 5th Dan and received official permission to teach as Shidôshi. In 2007 I founded the Bujinkan Dojo Wakagi-Augsburg, which is now led by two of my students. To always teach authentic Bujinkan, I continue to travel regularly to Japan and care for close contacts with other teachers at home and abroad. My personal aim is to pass on to my students the excitement that I feel for this ancient art."
